TNT’s New Series Trailers: ‘Public Morals’, ‘Proof’, ‘The Librarians’, ‘Transporter: The Series’

They include two original series — the Jennifer Beals-starrer Proof, exec produced by Kyra Sedgwick, and Edward Burns’ 1967-set NY cop drama Public Morals — as well as the Librarian series spinoff and the overseas pickup Transporter: The Series starring Chris VanceCheck them out:

Dramas From Ed Burns & Steven Spielberg And Kyra Sedgwick Get TNT Series Orders

TNT-logo__120721000844__121002154527Turner’s upfront next week will feature a familiar face. The Closer star Kyra Sedgwick is returning to TNT‘s lineup, this time as a producer. The cable network has picked up to series pilot Proof, a supernatural medical drama executive produced by Sedgwick in her TV series producing debut. Also ordered to series is the 1960s cop drama Public Morals, written, directed by and starring Ed Burns, which counts Steven Spielberg among its executive producers. Both projects, which had been clear frontrunners, have received 10-episode orders for 2015 debut. Of TNT’s other drama pilots, there is discussion about possibly retooling Agent X starring Sharon Stone, while Guilt By Association is not going forward.

modineMatthew Modine is set as a series regular in TNT pilot Proof, a supernatural medical drama executive produced by Kyra Sedgwick. Written by Rob Bragin and directed by Alex Graves, Proof centers on Dr. Carolyn Tyler (Jennifer Beals), a skeptical, hard-science, brilliant female surgeon with a caustic edge who has been struggling with the devastating loss of her teenage son and a growing estrangement from her surviving daughter. She is persuaded to investigate cases of reincarnation, out-of-body experiences, hauntings. Modine, repped by APA and Untitled, will play Ivan Turing, a charming, eccentric, technology multi-billionaire facing a terminal cancer who is willing to apply all his resources to answering the question, is there anything beyond death? He recently wrapped feature Altar.
Tom Jacobson and Jill Littman also executive produce Proof.

Keke Palmer is set as a recurringkekepalmer2 for the second season of Showtime’s drama series Masters Of Sex, produced by Sony Pictures Television. Series centers on the pioneers of the science of human sexuality Dr. William Masters (Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan), whose research touched off the sexual revolution and took them from a mid-western teaching hospital in St. Louis to the cover of Time magazine. Palmer will play Coral, the nanny hired by the Masters’ to care for their new baby. Palmer, repped by WME and Laron Entertainment, can next be seen in Flower Films horror/thriller Animal, and indies Brotherly Love and Imperial Dreams.

Callum Blue (The Princess Diaries 2) has been tappedblue3 for a regular series role in TNT’s pilot Proof, a supernatural medical drama executive produced by Kyra Sedgwick. Written by Rob Bragin and directed by Alex Graves, Proof centers on a skeptical, hard science, female surgeon who is persuaded to investigate cases of reincarnation. Callum, repped by Gersh, The Artists Partnership and Sanders Armstrong Caserta, plays Peter Van Owen, a charming, a best-selling author who claims to be a psychic medium.

Alexia Fast (Jack Reacher) has been booked for afast2 regular series role in WGN America’s 13-episode scripted series Manhattan. From writer Sam Shaw and director Thomas Schlamme, Skydance TV, Tribune Studios and Lionsgate TV, Manhattan is set against the backdrop of the clandestine mission to build the world’s first atomic bomb in Los Alamos, New Mexico and follows the brilliant but flawed scientists and their families. Fast, repped by UTA, Great North Artists Management and Sanders Armstrong Caserta, will play Callie Winter, the 16-year-old somewhat sharp-tongued daughter of Liza and Frank, whom she needles about his frequent, secretive absences from home for his work.

deoncole1Deon Cole (Barbershop, FX’s The League) has joined TBS‘ comedy pilot Tribeca, directed by Steve Carell. Co-written by Carell and his wife, Nancy Carell, Tribeca is a satirical look at a police procedural anchored by Angie Tribeca (Rashida Jones). Cole, repped by APA and Kirsten Ames Management, will play Officer DJ Tanner, head of the K-9 unit. He most recently hosted his own TBS series Deon Cole’s Black Box.
