As Deadline’s Mike Fleming revealed exclusively last month, awards season strategist Cynthia Swartz has left 42West to start her own PR firm, called Strategy PR/Consulting. The announcement comes just as awards season gets rolling with the Telluride and Toronto film festivals. Press release after the jump.
Dan Silberman has been promoted to SVP Publicity at A&E Network and Bio Channel, where he will be responsible for corporate and trade communication strategy and oversee all program-based consumer press efforts, talent relations and awards strategy for a portfolio of cable networks including A&E Network, Bio Channel and the Crime & Investigation Network, as well as the feature documentary unit A&E IndieFilms. He will continue to report to A&E Network and Bio Channel GM Bob DeBitetto.
Marnie Black has been named SVP of public relations for AMC. She replaces Theano Apostolou, who left in January to join Starz. Black, former professional opera singer, most recently ran her own communications firm with a client list including CNN, Comcast, Readers Digest, Interactive Advertising Bureau and NFL Networks. Before that, she was SVP of communications for MTV.
