Actor-comedian Ron Funches (Disney XD’s Crash & Bernstein) has been added to the NBC/WBTV comedy pilot Undateable, about a group of date-challenged friends whose lives are forever altered when a more confident character (Chris D’Elia) enters their world. The pilot, written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky and directed by Jason Moore, revolves around three dysfunctional women in their 30s living their lives the way they want, even if society tells them they should have it all figured out by this point. Moore plays one of them, Louise, who is optimistic and desperate to snag a husband — but her man-hungry tactics typically backfire. ABC Studios and Kapital Entertainment produce, with Sharon Horgan and Dennis Kelly, creators of the original series, executive producing with Eisenberg, Stupnitsky and Aaron Kaplan. Seth Numrich is in negotiations and British actor Burn Gorman (The Dark Knight Rises) is set for AMC‘s period drama pilot Turn, written by Craig Silverstein and directed by Rupert Wyatt. Based on Alexander Rose’s book Washington’s Spies, Turn is set in the summer of 1778 and tells the story of New York farmer Abe Woodhull, who bands together with a group of childhood friends to form The Culper Ring, an unlikely group of spies who turn the tide in America’s fight for independence. Gorman, repped by Management 360 and UK’s Independent Talent, will play Major Hewlett, a British Major, assigned to the Colonies. He will next be seen in Pacific Rim.
