Skeet Ulrich has been tapped as the male lead in the CBS drama pilot Anatomy Of Violence, written and executive produced by Homeland‘s Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and Alex Cary and directed by Mark Pellington. Inspired by the nonfiction book The Anatomy Of Violence: The Biological Roots Of Crime by Adrian Raine, the 20th TV-produced drama centers on Raines (Ulrich), an unshaven and disheveled, something of a maverick FBI Criminal Psychiatrist with an expertise in sociopaths who partners with a young female detective with whom he shares a conflicted past. Ulrich, repped by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment, joins recently cast David Harewood.

More ‘LOLA’ Shakeup – Skeet Ulrich Out Too

Nellie Andreeva

EXCLUSIVE: Earlier this afternoon, we broke the news about the ongoing creative overhaul of NBC’s Law & Order: Los Angeles that has led to the departure of two regulars, Regina Hall and Megan Boone, who play DDAs on the Law & Order spinoff. They have now been joined by Skeet Ulrich, the first actor to be cast on LOLA back in July, who will also be leaving the series as part of the the creative revamp. Ulrich plays Detective Rex Winters, one of the two cops on the Wolf Films/UMS-produced police-legal drama. I hear that Law & Order chief Dick Wolf, who has also tweaked his other Law & Order series during their first seasons, will make the changes on LOLA on the fly, without stopping production on the show that is now filming Episode 12.

Howard will play a new Deputy D.A. who will work alongside Deputy D.A. Morales (Molina). Howard and Molina will be splitting the workload, each appearing roughly in the half of the episodes thus allowing the show to land big feature names and the actors to stay active in movies.

lola2I hear start of production on NBC’s new Law & Order spinoff Law & Order: Los Angeles has been pushed by a week and a half to give producers from UMS and Wolf Films more time to cast the project. The series, originally scheduled to start filming July 22, will now begin shooting on Aug. 2. So far, only one of the 5 regular roles on the show has been cast: Skeet Ulrich was tapped to play Detective Rex Winters, one of the two detectives at the center of the crime procedural. Skeet Ulrich To Star In ‘Law & Order: LA’

Nellie Andreeva

skeetulrichSkeet Ulrich is set to star in NBC’s latest Law & Order spinoff, Law & Order: Los Angeles. The former Jericho star is the first actor tapped for the Dick Wolf-produced series, which had cast a wide net for its five regular roles. Ulrich gradually emerged as a frontrunner for the lead role of Detective Rex Winters, a handsome, rugged former Marine with the intuition of a natural cop. Winters was 6 weeks on the job when the Rodney King riots occurred, which shaped his entire policy of policing. His personal life is a bit of a mess: his first marriage ended when he had an affair – with his former partner, to whom he is now married. According to the series’ breakdown, LOLA follows closely the template of the other Law & Order series with two detectives, Winters and thirtysomething TJ Jaruszalski at the center, joined by a captain, a prosecutor, and his assistant. LOLA, from UMS and Wolf Films, is executive produced by Wolf, writer Blake Masters, showrunner Rene Balcer and Peter Jankowski. Ulrich recently played a serial killer in an arc on CSI:NY.
