Andy Samberg Goes ‘Cuckoo’ For BBC Three Comedy Series

By | Tuesday June 12, 2012 @ 7:30am PDT

Just after confirming his departure from Saturday Night Live, Andy Samberg has joined BBC Three comedy, Cuckoo. The six-part series from Roughcut Television will shoot this summer to air later this year. In it, Samberg will play Cuckoo, the new husband to an English girl returning home from her post-college gap year. The Inbetweeners‘ Greg Davies and Friends‘ Helen Baxendale play the girl’s parents who reluctantly take in their new son-in-law, despite being horrified by his New Age-y, slacker ways. Cuckoo was created and written by Robin French and Kieron Quirke. It will be executive produced for BBC Three by Chris Sussman and by Ash Atalla and Dan Hine for Roughcut. Ben Taylor is directing.

Sorry but Sacha’s pre-release shtick isn’t getting stale for me – yet. Make sure you watch to the end for the legendary director who makes a cameo…

Well, sort of… Also he calls his return to hosting Saturday Night Live “career-endingly stupid”… Oh c’mon, stupider than starring in the dreadful Jonah Hex?

SNL Parodies Bravo TV Putz Andy Cohen

By | Sunday April 8, 2012 @ 1:54am PDT

Taran Killam does a decent sendup of Andy Cohen, whom I once described as The Single Worst Thing Airing On Bravo… Then again, everything on that trash network (except Top Chef) is now a complete embarrassment:

RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘SNL’ Takes Small Slide With Ben Stiller In Host Slot

By | Sunday October 9, 2011 @ 6:03pm PDT

Alec Baldwin and Melissa McCarthy rate slightly over Ben Stiller, at least as far as NBC’s Saturday Night Live is concerned. Despite special appearances by Hugh Jackman and Kenny G and a hosting stint from Stiller — starring in the new Brett Ratner feature Tower Heist – the third installment of SNL’s new season was able to average just a 4.8 rating/12 share in metered-market homes. That compares to a 5.1 for the season premiere two weeks ago with host Baldwin and a 5.2 on Oct. 1 with McCarthy presiding. Last night’s numbers could well have been impacted by several rain delays during Game 1 of the American League Championship Series on Fox, pushing the game’s conclusion far later than normal. Texas wound up beating Detroit, 3-2. In adults 18-49, however, last night’s SNL matched the 2.6/11 generated by the Baldwin-hosted season kickoff.
