Hot Trailer: ‘A.C.O.D.’

Adam Scott stars in Sundance comedy A.C.O.D. (Adult Children of Divorce) as a man still dealing with his parents’ bitter split who has to bring his embattled family together when his younger brother gets engaged. The comedy is directed by Stuart Zicherman (ABC’s Six Degrees) and written by Zicherman and Ben Karlin. Richard Jenkins, Catherine O’Hara, Jessica Alba, Amy Poehler, and Clark Duke also star in the pic which is set for an October 4 release via Paramount Home Media and The Film Arcade. Hot Trailer: ‘Afternoon Delight’

A bored housewife (Kathryn Hahn) makes a trip to a strip club and finds Her True Calling: saving a 19-year-old “full-service sex worker” (Juno Temple) by hiring her as a nanny. Jill Soloway won the U.S. Dramatic Directing Award at Sundance for Afternoon Delight, which was produced by Jen Chaiken and Sebastian Dungan and also stars Josh Radnor and Jane Lynch. Here’s the first trailer for the dark comedy, which the Film Arcade will release theatrically:

Film Arcade And Cinedigm Pick Up Sundance Winner ‘Afternoon Delight’

Afternoon DelightJill Soloway is having a pretty good year. She won the U.S. Dramatic Directing Award at Sundance in January, and now her feature debut Afternoon Delight has a distributor. The Film Arcade acquired theatrical rights with Cinedigm handling ancillary markets. The dark comedy follows a bored woman (Kathryn Hahn) in an uneventful marriage who hires a stripper (Juno Temple) as her live-in nanny. Josh Radnor and Jane Lynch co-star in the film produced by Jen Chaiken and Sebastian Dungan. “We fell in love with Afternoon Delight at Sundance and look forward to working with Jill, Jen and Sebastian to bring their film to audiences throughout the country,” said The Film Arcade’s Miranda Bailey today in a statement. Before turning to features, Soloway earned three Emmy noms for outstanding drama series as a writer and co-executive of HBO’s Six Feet Under. Her TV credits also include How To Make It In America and United States Of Tara. UTA’s Rena Ronson and Hailey Wierengo and Linda Lichter and Jamie Feldman of Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Adler & Feldman repped the filmmakers on the deal.

Film Arcade And Paramount Team On Sundance Comedy ‘A.C.O.D.’

April 16, 2013 – The Film Arcade and Paramount Home Media Distribution announced today the acquisition of the breakout Sundance comedy A.C.O.D. The Film Arcade will release the film theatrically throughout North America and Paramount Home Media Distribution will manage domestic home entertainment, television licensing and digital distribution, as well as all international distribution.

A.C.O.D., which comedically explores the world of Adult Children of Divorce, marks the directorial debut of Stuart Zicherman (creator of J.J. Abrams/ABC’s “Six Degrees”), who co-wrote the script with Ben Karlin, a producer and writer on “Modern Family” and previously on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”. The film features an all-star cast of comedic talent including Adam Scott (“Parks and Recreation”, Friends with Kids), Richard Jenkins (Step Brothers), Catherine O’Hara (For Your Consideration), Amy Poehler (“Parks and Recreation”), Jessica Alba (Fantastic Four), Jane Lynch (“Glee”), Clark Duke (“The Office”) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs the World). Teddy Schwarzman’s Black Bear Pictures (Broken City, upcoming At Any Price) fully financed A.C.O.D. and Schwarzman produced the film alongside Karlin and Tim Perell.
