Harris Goldberg Puts ‘The List’ Into Production

Goose’s List LLC has begun production on The List, which it is financing after buying a spec by Harris Goldberg & Kristen D’Alessio. Goldberg is directing and D’Alessio is producing. Shooting is getting underway in Los Angeles, and Patrick Fugit stars with Jennifer Morrison, Karen Gillan, Aaron Staton, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Giles Martini, Jobeth Williams and Victoria Tennant. Pic is a romantic comedy and Fugit (Almost Famous) plays a young man who undertakes the task of fulfilling a self-improvement list to secure the girl of his dreams. The journey triggers a reexamination of his true self, values and perspective on life. Goldberg and D’Alessio have their next two films financed by Goose List and they are developing several TV projects together.

EXCLUSIVE: Fox and 20th TV have put the finishing touches on the cast for drama pilot The List with some changes. Tamsin Egerton (Camelot), originally cast as Maddie Soto, will now play Delilah, a role for which Charity Wakefield had been originally set. One Tree Hill alumna Hilarie Burton has now been cast as Maddie, replacing Egerton. Gary Cole will play a lead opposite Michael Peña in The List, Fox‘s drama pilot from Paul Zbyszewski, Ruben Fleischer and 20th TV. The project centers on the intense Deputy U.S. Marshal Soto (Peña) who, when members of the Federal Witness Security Program start getting killed, leads the hunt for the person who stole “the list” – a file with the identities of every member of the program. Cole will play Soto’s boss, Chief Inspector Bob McKinnon, a stand-up, loyal guy who goes to bat for Soto when his maverick inspector gets into hot water, yet again. Cole, repped by Gersh and Envoy Entertainment, is wrapping a season-long arc on the upcoming second season of HBO’s Veep.

Reno 911! alumna Kerri Kenney-Silver and Kurt Fuller (Psych) have been cast in Friends & Family, Fox‘s single-camera comedy pilot from writer David Rosen, Sony TV and BBC Worldwide Prods. Based on the UK series Gavin & Stacey, Friends & Family focuses on the key life moments for Gavin (Jason Ritter) and Stacey (Alexis Bledel), who try to maintain their relationship while combining their polarizing families’ lives. Gossip Girl alumna Jessica Szohr has been cast as the female lead opposite Michael Peña in The List, Fox‘s drama pilot from Paul Zbyszewski, Ruben Fleischer and 20th TV. The project centers on the intense Deputy U.S. Marshal Soto (Peña) who, when members of the Federal Witness Security Program start getting killed, leads the hunt for the person who stole “the list” – a file with the identities of every member of the program. Szohr, repped by ICM Partners, Mosaic and Dave Feldman, will play Special Agent Natalie Voss, a fearless FBI agent who detests dealing with the Witness Security Program but is intrigued by the quirky, twitchy Soto. Michael Peña To Star In Fox Drama Pilot ‘The List’

Michael PenaMichael Peña is set as the lead in The List, Fox‘s drama pilot from Paul Zbyszewski, Ruben Fleischer and 20th TV. The project centers on the intense Deputy U.S. Marshal Soto (Peña) who, when members of the Federal Witness Security Program start getting killed, leads the hunt for the person who stole “the list” – a file with the identities of every member of the program. Soto is described as a ruggedly attractive, oddly charismatic man, a notoriously quirky maverick who frequently gets into trouble with the bureaucracy. Peña is the second Latino actor Fox has cast as the lead of a drama pilot this season, along with Ramon Rodriguez, who toplines Gang Related. Peña, repped by CAA, Management 360 and Rick Genow, is nominated for a 2013 Independent Spirit Award for End Of Watch and will next be seen playing the title role in Chavez for director Diego Luna. He also recently wrapped the border drama Frontera opposite Ed Harris.

UPDATE: Fox Picks Up Three Drama, Four Comedy Pilots, Including ‘Sleepy Hollow’

UPDATE: Fox has also picked up three more drama pilots, joining Greg Kinnear starrer Rake. They are the Ruben Fleischer-produced drama The List, Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci’s Sleepy Hollow and Karyn Usher’s Delirium.

The List, is from writer Paul Zbyszewski (Lost) and 20th TV, where Zombieland director Fleischer is based. The project centers on Deputy U.S. Marshal Dan Shaker who, when members of the Federal Witness Security Program start getting killed, leads the hunt for the person who stole “the list” – a file with the identities of every member of the program. Zbyszewski and Fleischer executive produce.

Kurtzman and Orci‘s Sleepy Hollow, which had a put pilot commitment, has Underworld helmer Len Wiseman on board to direct. 20th TV and Kurtzman and Orci’s studio-based K/O Paper Products produce. Described as a modern–day supernatural thriller based on The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow, it follows Ichabod Crane as he partners with Sleepy Hollow’s local female sheriff to solve the mysteries of a town ravaged by the battle between good and evil. Kurtzman and Orci wrote the script with up-and-coming writer Phillip Iscove, on whose idea the project is based. Kurtzman, Orci and Wiseman executive produce Sleepy Hollow with K/O’s Heather Kadin, while Iscove serves as supervising producer. Another Sleepy Hollow drama is in contention at the CW. Read More »
