EXCLUSIVE: Dianne McGunigle, who for the past decade has been an agent in CAA‘s comedy department in New York, is leaving the agency. She will move to Los Angeles to become a manager at The Schiff Company. McGunigle has worked with such clients as Donald Glover, Aubrey Plaza, Adam Pally, Jemima Kirke, and Abby Elliott, among others. She was hired by David Schiff, who told Deadline that she “has an accomplished track record for having nurtured the careers of uniquely talented comedic writers, actors and performers, many of whom Dianne was among the first to discover. We are really excited that Dianne has chosen us as her landing spot to transition to management where we know she will have great success.”
McGunigle will relocate and start the new job in early May.
EXCLUSIVE: Ethan Hawke, hot off his latest pic Before Midnight which sold to Sony Pictures Classics at Sundance, has inked with The Schiff Company. He adds the management firm to his longtime agent team at CAA and lawyer George Sheanshang. Hawke, an actor-screenwriter-director who also works on the stage, was last seen on the big screen in October in the Summit horror film Sinister, and he next stars in the The Purge for Universal which bows May 31. Sony Classics plans a May 24 platform release for Before Midnight, the third installment of the Richard Linklater-directed series starring Hawke and July Delpy. The latest attracted seven buyers after it premiered in Park City to rave reviews last month and the final price tag was well into seven figures — one of the big deals of the festival.
BREAKING: Long time WME agent and Partner Adam Isaacs has joined The Schiff Company. Isaacs will be taking several clients with him to his new gig as a manager, including Keira Knightley, Tom Waits, Helena Bonham Carter and Dougray Scott. The talent will continue to be agented by WME. “Adam is a highly regarded individual, and an extremely skilled and passionate advocate for actors. He has great taste, proven success, and well-deserved goodwill. We are all excited to welcome him to our company,” said company founder David Schiff in a statement today. Isaacs joined Endeavor in 2005. Before that he was at UTA starting in 1993. Isaacs actually started his career in the William Morris Agency’s mailroom in New York before becoming an agent at InterTalent.
