Pam Veasey Signs Development Deal With Jerry Bruckheimer TV, Warner Bros TV

EXCLUSIVE: As CSI: NY just ended its nine-season run, the series’ executive producer and showrunner Pam Veasey is staying in business with its production company Jerry Bruckheimer TV. She has signed a two-script development deal with Warner Bros TV-based company. Additionally, she has joined the upcoming WBTV drama series for the CW The Tomorrow People, which is slated for the post-Arrow Wednesday slot, as a consulting producer. Veasey, repped by CAA and Nina Shaw, was with CSI: NY for its entire run. During the 2011-12 season, she juggled running the CBS forensic crime drama and the CW’s Ringer. Her credits also include The District and In Living Color.

UPDATE: CW’s ‘The Tomorrow People’, ‘The 100′, ‘Reign’ & ‘Oxygen’ Ordered To Series

UPDATE: Reign and Oxygen from CBS TV Studios also just got picked up, bringing the total number of new CW series for next season for five, including The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals. The only remaining question is whether The Selection, which never found its footing, is dead. (UPDATE: It is. Click here for more.)

PREVIOUS: The CW also entered the pickup fray with series orders to drama pilots The Tomorrow People and The 100. Both have been frontrunners, coming from Warner Bros TV. The Tomorrow People is executive produced by Julie Plec and Greg Berlanti, meaning that Plec will have three series on the CW next season, The Vampire Diaries, spinoff The Originals and The Tomorrow People. Berlanti will have two, The Tomorrow People and Arrow.

Beau Bridges is set as a lead in CBS‘ untitled Greg Garcia multi-camera comedy pilot. The project, written and executive produced by Garcia, centers on Jack (Will Arnett), a recently divorced guy whose life gets more complicated when his parents have marital problems of their own. British newcomer Celina Sinden has been cast in CW pilot Reign, from CBS TV Studios. It chronicles the rise to power of Mary Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane) when she arrives in France as a 15-year-old, betrothed to Prince Francis (Toby Regbo), and with her three best friends as ladies-in-waiting. Robbie Amell has landed the lead role in the CW drama pilot The Tomorrow People. Written/exec produced by Phil Klemmer based on the cult British series, exec produced by Julie Plec and Greg Berlanti and directed/exec produced by Danny Cannon, Tomorrow People revolves around several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution and work together to defeat the forces of evil. Amell, repped by ICM Partners, Coast To Coast and Protege Entertainment, will play Stephen, a tormented man who longs to be normal and is relieved when he learns that he’s not crazy but rather part of a group of genetically superior “Tomorrow People.”

Party Down and Veronica Mars alum Ryan Hansen will co-star opposite Ari Graynor in Bad Teacher, CBS’ single-camera comedy series adaptation of the 2011 movie. Written by Hilary Winston, directed by Don Scardino and produced by the film’s Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, the pilot centers on hot, confident, unapologetic former trophy wife Meredith Davis (Graynor), who becomes a teacher to find a new man after her husband leaves her without a dime. Gersh-repped Hansen will play the shorts-wearing athletics coach at the school, a version of the character played in the movie by Jason Segel. CW Greenlights Greg Berlanti-Julie Plec’s ‘Tomorrow People’ & David Marshall Grant-Produced ‘Blink’ As Pilots

The CW rounded out its pilot orders today with pickups of The Tomorrow People, an adaptation of the cult British 1970s sci-fi series from Arrow co-creators/executive producer Greg Berlanti and The Vampire Diaries co-creator/executive producer Julie Plec; and Blink, produced by David Marshall Grant (Smash). In all, the CW picked up eight drama pilots this year, including planted Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals, also from Plec. None of them is in the CW’s former bread-and-butter genre of teen soap, with futuristic, sci-fi and high-concept fare galore.

Berlanti and Plec executive produce Tomorrow People, written/exec produced by Phil Klemmer (Chuck).
